Nanzen-ji was founded by Emperor in 1264 and ranked as the highest Zen temple in Japan. The layout is representative style of Zen temples with the great san-mon gate. You can enjoy the atmosphere as typical Zen temple in Kyoto.
You can see the original appearance of Sanjusangen-do that was built about 750 years ago and 1,001 life-size standing Kannon statues with gold.
It is truly breathtaking sight. This is the only temple in Japan where you can see more than 1,000 Kannon statues in one hall. They have different faces,11 faces on their heads and 1,000 arms. They are amazing and Sanjusangen-do will be unforgettable special memory for you.
Fushimi-Inari-taisha is the head shrine of the approximately 40,000 Inari-jinja through Japan and the most popular place in Japan for foreigners for four consecutive years. At first, stone foxes which are the sacred messengers of the god of this shrine welcome you. Then, you can get the most impressive scenery you’ve never seen at the vermilion thousand tori gate tunnels. Approximately 5,000 torii gates line the mountainside approaching to it’s shrines. After you go through the gates, you may get your wishes.
